Mercedes-Benz has created the “world’s biggest installation of synthetic resin” by encasing a classic 1979 280 GE for the Detroit Auto Show. The resin block, entitled “Stronger than time: 1979 G-Class cast in amber,” is designed to look like amber (petrified tree-sap … you know … Jurassic Park and stuff), and was constructed as a promo lead-in to their all new 2019 Mercedes-Benz G-Class SUV.
